History
   Plans for a temple in Lubbock were announced by Pres. Hinckley in the April 2000 General Conference and the groundbreaking ceremony was held in November 2000. Construction began in January 2001, with the Angel Moroni statue being placed on the temple spire on November 30, 2001. The Open House for the temple was held on March 20-30, 2002. The Dedication was held on April 21, 2002, and the dedicatory prayer was given by Pres. Hinckley.
